BLACK-TIE MASKED BALL WELCOMING PSO MUSIC DIRECTOR ROBERT MOODY ON OCTOBER 25

PORTLAND, Maine – The Portland Symphony Orchestra (PSO) announces the Robert Moody Masked Inaugural Ball on Saturday, October 25 at 7:00 PM at the Portland Country Club.

Moody is the twelfth Music Director in the PSO’s 84-year history. He succeeds Toshi Shimada who was Music Director for 20 years.

The Masked Ball will be an unforgettable, elaborate celebration, featuring flowers by Fleur De Lis, a lighting installation by Pandora LaCasse, edible favors by Box Hill Confections, draped decorations by Anita Stewart (Artistic and Executive Director of the Portland Stage Company), along with hors d’oeuvres, carving stations, beverages, and dancing to the Thomas Snow Band.

Guests for this enchanting black-tie event are encouraged to wear masks to add to the evening’s atmosphere. Plans for the Ball are filled with secrets and surprises.

The Robert Moody Masked Inaugural Ball is sponsored by Acadia Insurance and Key Bank, with additional support from Bancroft & Company and Weichert, Realtors - Waterglen Group.

Tickets for the Masked Ball are $150 per person. Host Committee tickets, at $250 per person, include an exclusive, pre-party cocktail reception with Maestro Moody at 5:30; a personalized, autographed and framed program page from his first official concert in October 2008; and recognition at the Ball as a Host Committee member.
