PORTLAND, Maine – There are a variety of ways for students of all ages to access the renowned artists and world-class performances of the Portland Symphony. Music Director Robert Moody’s much-anticipated inaugural season with the Portland Symphony Orchestra (PSO) officially kicks off in October 2008. No need to wait for student rush, students can plan in advance and get great seats at prices they can afford. Single tickets for all concerts are on sale Tuesday, September 2.
Full time students and anyone under 18 are eligible for subscription and single-ticket discounts in all seating areas. Subscriptions are discounted by up to 50%, and regular season single ticket prices are discounted by 30-40%. Discounts vary by series and location. Children and students also get $5 off Magic of Christmas tickets.
Additionally, for select concerts, students at several area colleges (Southern Maine Community College, the University of Southern Maine, the University of New England, and Maine College of Art) can receive vouchers good for two tickets for $10 each, an offer that saves students up to 85% of the regular ticket price.
Select dress rehearsals are also open for students to attend for a rare opportunity to hear a professional orchestra at work. Availability is limited, call 207-773-6128 or email education@portlandsymphony.com for details.
All concerts take place at Portland’s Merrill Auditorium.
