Singer, actor and broadcaster Suzanne Nance studied music and communications at Syracuse University and received a Master’s degree in Voice Performance from DePaul University in Chicago. Most recently, Ms. Nance has performed in Prague, London, Philadelphia, Chicago, New York and Bangor and Portland, ME. Favorite opera roles include Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Ottavia in L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Mimi in La Bohème and Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar Named Desire. A recipient of a 2006 CAAP Grant and a David Leibig Memorial Grant for performance and dedication to classical music, Suzanne Nance was named a finalist in the 2005 West Palm Beach National Vocal Competition. Suzanne has enjoyed performances on PBS and NPR as well as a guest appearance on Good Morning America. Currently the Music Director for Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN), Suzanne Nance produces and hosts the weekday morning classical music program from 9AM to Noon. In recent past, Nance has interviewed artists such as soprano Jessye Norman, poet Mark Strand and violinists Hilary Hahn and Joshua Bell.
