The Wescustogo Foundation generously awarded the PSO a $25,000 Challenge grant for new and increased giving to the Symphony's Annual Fund. Announced on November 11, 2008 the Challenge generated and matched $25,000 before December 31 from 123 donors who either made a contribution for the first time or increased their gift. Meeting the Wescustogo Challenge demonstrates the value that individuals within the community place on the PSO.
 
As a non-profit, the Symphony is not immune to current economic conditions, and continues to rely on contributions from individuals and foundations. Contributions to the Annual Fund support the production of our classical, Pops! and holiday concerts, classical concert broadcasts, and education programs, which include KinderKonzerts for children ages 3 - 7, Youth Concerts for middle school students, and free open dress rehearsals for high school and college students. Collectively, these activities reach over 80,000 people annually through the power of music.
